THE HEART BEHIND PINK PANTHER CARE
A Legacy of Love, Dignity, and Second Chances
Pink Panther Care was created from a daughter’s love for her father, a family’s commitment to serving others, and a belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, safety, and respect.

His life, resilience, and family’s commitment to service continue to inspire Pink Panther Care.
OUR INSPIRATION
The story behind Pink Panther Care
Pink Panther Care is rooted in the life and legacy of Michael “Pink Panther” Thomas. To his family, he was more than a beloved father. He was a man whose life reflected resilience, generosity, and a deep connection to community. His nickname, “Pink Panther,” became the inspiration for a mission built on compassionate care and meaningful second chances.
After suffering several strokes, Michael spent the final six years of his life in a nursing facility. As a nurse and healthcare professional, his daughter, Nurse Tan, experienced firsthand how painful it can be to watch someone you love depend on others for daily care. The family witnessed injuries and experiences that raised profound concerns about his safety, comfort, and dignity. Because of distance, Nurse Tan often felt limited in what she could do from afar. There were moments when watching his suffering was almost more than she could bear.
Michael passed away on July 4, 2024. In the time that followed, Nurse Tan carried both grief and a renewed purpose. She made a promise to herself: if there was a way to help keep another individual or family from experiencing the same fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak, she would work toward it with everything she had.
That promise became Pink Panther Care.
A FAMILY LEGACY CONTINUES
Service that reaches forward
Michael and his wife devoted years of their lives to foster parenting and helped care for hundreds of children. Although they are no longer able to provide that service directly, their legacy continues through Pink Panther Care’s work with young adults who are aging out of foster care. Our group-home services are designed to offer stability, encouragement, practical support, and a place where young people can continue building their futures.
Michael also faced his own struggle with alcohol abuse and needed support over many years. His family stood beside him through recovery. That experience continues to shape Pink Panther Care’s commitment to transitional and independent living services for people who are rebuilding, seeking stability, and working toward a healthier next chapter.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Care should never take away a person’s dignity.
Pink Panther Care exists to create environments where people are seen, respected, and supported. Every home, every support plan, and every act of service is intended to honor the values that shaped Michael Thomas’s family: compassion, accountability, perseverance, and love for the community.
“Pink Panther Care is rooted in a deep love for my father and the legacy he left behind. I am confident that he would be proud to see our family continue serving the community in this way.”
